Do your students need extra practice mastering multiplication facts? This packet might be the answer!! It uses students' interest in sports to provide important practice with basic multiplication facts.
This file has game-boards for students to practice all multiplication facts from 2x1 to 12x12. Students choose a gameboard for the group of facts (2s, 3s, 4s, up to 12s) that they need to practice. During his/her turn, the student either rolls the dice (a standard pair of dice or a 12-sided die) or chooses a card from the pile. They multiply that number by the number on the game-board. They cover the answer to the problem on their game-board. They continue until someone covers all of the numbers on the game-board.
This packet includes 22 student game-boards; two for each family of facts. One features a boy athlete and one features a girl athlete for each group of facts. It also includes direction cards; there are two different versions of these directions: one for a game using dice and one for a game using cards. Two sets of cards from 1 to 12 are also included.
This file would make a great math center or station; it would also be a great activity that students could use to practice when they finish other classwork throughout the day. It is a great way to differentate, as two students could be playing the game against one another, while one student is practicing 2s, and the other is practicing 12s.
Be sure to check out the preview to see everything that is included!!
