The pocket chart center is a favorite in my classroom! That's why I like to make it fun and educational at the same time! In this packet, I have created pocket chart activities, 2 per month, for your students to read, write and color. Everything is already made for you - simply print, photocopy, cut and insert into your pocket chart! There are worksheets that accompany each pocket chart activity that progress with difficulty as each month passes and for differentiated instruction as well. The focus for each activity is based on sight word recognition and/or color words.
There are a total of 20 complete pocket chart activities for you to use. Themes range from Back to School, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Winter, Valentine's Day, Transportation, Spring, St. Patty's Day, Ocean and more!
Having fun is so important in my classroom - using this resource will surely make the Pocket Chart a new favorite in your classroom too!
Please download and try the preview. If you like it, you will LOVE the activities included!
So excited to use this next year (my first year teaching kindergarten)! Thank You

These fit right into our sight word program. Thanks!
I like these a lot. I hope you consider doing some more. My district has the kids learning 100 sight words! I can see these pocket chart activities being a great way to practice them... but we would need more ;)
I wish you would have contacted me if you were disappointed. What were you disappointed with? I would appreciate it if you could email me at kindergartenteacher@rogers.com and I will look to rectify the situation as best as I can. Thanks!

I love all of these pocket chart activities! They are great to target/reinforce sight word recognition. I love the progression througout the year and it is such a wonderful whole group and/or independent activity!
Hi Alexis,
I didn't put borders around the words because when I made this product last summer, I had a few suggestions from friends and other TpT sellers NOT to add borders, that way you can use them with a variety of papers, sentence strips, etc. You can also just cut the words out alone and have students build the sentences. Thanks for your purchase!

I like the following directions freebie but there are alot of black lines and wont print well. Any suggestions?
Hi there,
Many people have purchased and uploaded this file without any probelms. Try this suggestion from TpT and if that doesn't work, I would contact TpT to let them know:
"If you purchased/downloaded a PDF and it is blurry/black lines after you open it, solve it this way: on a MAC or PC, install the latest version of ADOBE READER. Then, open the file with ADOBE READER. That's it. On a MAC, make sure to "Open With" ADOBE READER and NOT Preview. If it's still blurry, that's because you are still opening it with Preview!"
That way, you can prevent this from happening again.
Hope this helps! Thanks for your purchase!

I purchased the pocket chart activities but they won;t print correctly. The second page just prints the black and white bus with black dark lines throughout the page, no words I am not sure why. I printed the first page with the bus okay--I have never experienced this before--help please thank you Carolin
Hi Carolin,
Hmmm...I don't know why you are having these issues. Try this suggestion from TpT and if that doesn't work, I would contact TpT to let them know:
"If you purchased/downloaded a PDF and it is blurry/black lines after you open it, solve it this way: on a MAC or PC, install the latest version of ADOBE READER. Hi Alessia! (Love your name!), I was wondering how many there were and if they are focus on colors? I was thinking of getting them and making them work for my bilingual class (SPANISH) but wasn't sure if that what the focus is. I also wanted to know if you include pictures for all of them. Thank you!
Hi Lucia! Thank you! Yes, most of the pocket chart activities are predictable text (I am a yellow apple, I am a green apple, etc.) until the end of the year in which they may focus on various sight words and more "reading" the sentences. I have included all words, color words and pictures (b&w for easy photocopying) for all 20 activities. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for contacting me! :)

Hi! I attended the new teacher academy with Christina Bainbridge and she gave us coupons to get a free item of your page. I wasn't sure how we redeemed them but I was really interest in your all year pocket chart fun. Let me know what I should do. Thanks!
Kayla
Hi Alessia, I purchased your All Year Long-Pocket Chart packet and have a few questions. I was wondering if you always put the entire sentence onto a sentence strip and into the pocket chart (including the words that may be blank or missing on the students' worksheets)? For example, would you have in your pocket chart for February "This green flower is for you (along with a picture of a green flower) and then just have the students copy it directly from the pocket chart and color the picture? Does this routine remain the same throughout the year? I apologize if this is confusing. If you could get back to me and let me know how/if the pocket charts increase in difficulty and your own classroom routines, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!!
Hi there! Sure I can tell you all about my pocket chart center - can you e-mail me at kindergartenteacher@rogers.com and I will send you more info. Thanks!
~Alessia
Hello! I am looking at your All Year Long - Pocket Chart Fun product and am wondering if most of it is more emergent reader focussed or if it gets more difficult than the preview as the year progresses. I downloaded the preview (beach ball) and that seemed like a nice September activity for my September first graders but it would be too easy for later in the year...Thank you so much for your input!
Hi Lisa! My activities do progress with difficulty as the year goes on but most of them are similar to an emergent reader. Why don't you e-mail me at kindergartenteacher@rogers.com and I can send you a few pictures of the activities in the pack before you buy. I have a sale on today (20% off) so e-mail me as soon as you can and I will forward you the activities so that you can take advantage of the sale price. Hope this helps!
