This social studies activity involves the filling in of a chart with people, places, familiar from American History. It is great to leave for substitute teachers to do or for those times when you don't want to begin a new unit of study because of field trips, etc. Leaving activities such as this make class time productive for students even when you cannot for some reason go on with regular lessons. It provides review for students in grades 5 and above, and could probably be adapted for use with 3rd and 4th graders.
