**Note: The preview file is a PDF view of the PowerPoint file. The content (other than headings) is mostly in Wingdings to give you an idea of what you are buying without giving away the entire presentation. **
For $8.00, you get a full packet that will help you teach American Romanticism to students. This packet includes a PowerPoint presentation with creative backgrounds, charts, and images; two versions of a quiz; handouts for students; and four activities that can be modified to fit your needs. This packet can take 30 minutes of class or 2 - 3 days, depending on the amount of time you want to devote to the subject.
This packet instructs students in the elements of American Romanticism and in the characteristics of the American Romantic Hero. The PowerPoint file is CUSTOMIZABLE and is 22 slides long, including 4 slides that offer activities, offering a comprehensive look at American Romanticism and the historical time period from which it arose. It also includes basic notes from the instructor where appropriate, offering ideas or further explanation.
Contents:
1) PowerPoint File (lecture & activities)
2) Quiz
3) Concept Mastery Diagram (blank, for students)
4) PDF of PowerPoint (printable, for students)
Notes:
One of the activities is a "Concept Mastery Diagram" that has been set onto a PowerPoint slide, already filled out and animated so that the teacher can control when each area is displayed to the student.
The activities are tested in the classroom on students in Honors and Inclusion classes. I offer suggestions based on what works for me, but once you buy them, these slides can be modified easily.
Two versions of a 10-question quiz are included, with answers already highlighted for the teacher. A ScoreKey for AccelTest users is included.
A PDF version (for student notes) is included for your convenience.
As always, I try to keep my PowerPoint presentations to a price that is between 0.30 and 0.50 per slide, and I never charge over 0.50 per slide.
If you would like to request a PowerPoint over a specific subject related to History, Writing, or Literature (of any sort), please email me at rutherfordj2@k12tn.net. I cannot promise that I will be able to make the presentation for you, but if I have time or if I have something similar that I can modify for you, I will happily create it and make it available on this site for roughly the price scale I would otherwise use.

I am in my fifth year of teaching at Houston County High School in Erin, Tennessee. I taught Regular & Inclusion English III (Juniors) for four years; College (English 1010) & Honors English III (Juniors) for four years; College (English 1020) & Honors English IV (Seniors) for four years; and Regular & Inclusion English IV (Seniors) for one year. This year, I began teaching the Regular & Inclusion English IV, instead of Regular & Inclusion English III. I have taught English 1010 as an adjunct at Austin Peay State University for two years.
