This is a compilation of three of the Panchatantra folktales from India. The Panchatantra was created to teach Hindu princes morality and behavior. It makes a great year end project for students of virtually all ages. It is short, running about 18 minutes. You would create 6 groups: costumes, makeup, props, background, actors/actresses and music (if you want to include it). The costumes can be made from sweatsuits, leggings and felt. It can be performed or acted in the classroom as well as on stage. It can also be used to satisfy the CCLS/CCSS WHST.6-8.4., RL.6.10., or if they research as groupwork, it can be Common Core Standard SL.6.1. We did it as an interdisciplinary Social Studies play. I hope you enjoy as well as I did.
