This 34 slide powerpoint, created by Beverly Brown, focuses on analogies, including antonyms, synonyms, part to whole, general to specific, and cause and effect. It includes loads of clip art and animation. It also features 21 interactive slides of completing analogies and identifying the type of analogy as well as a link to an on-line game to play with analogies. It concludes with a 10 item quiz (answer key included) to administer to your class.
Overall a great powerpoint! Please fix a couple of slides- slide 8 has two i's in the word "sometimes", and slide 12 has "meal" written twice as an answer choice.
You nailed it! I might recommend to you and others the website englishforeveryone.com This site had great practice worksheets that go hand and hand with this lesson!

This was a great interactive PP to introduce the topic. My students really enjoyed it.

We noticed a few errors in class and it was a little too lengthy to hold kids attention, but overall it taught them useful information about analogies and it was a great way to introduce the unit.
Thanks for your purchase and comments. I would love for you to point out any errors, as I do not see any. This is my number one selling powerpoint, and no one else has mentioned any errors.

This should help drive home this concept. Many examples given to use in instruction.

Hi Beverly, I purchased your powerpoint on analogies and thought it was fabulous. Unfortunately, before I got around to downloading it onto my school computer, I managed to lose the flashdrive it was on. Is there any chance you can send it to me? If so, thanks ever so much. I really really appreciate it. I will happily reciprocate with a powerpoint of my own, if you like.
