This a 4-page document with clear explanations of devices typically used in poetry (Alliteration, Assonance, Consonance, Imagery, Literal/Figurative Language-Simile, Metaphor, Hyperbole, etc.) All of the short, comprehensible explanations have examples as well. There is a also a section on types of poems (Ballad, Elegy, Ode, etc.) and parts of a poem. This first section is followed by a succinct how-to guide on analyzing a poem, including a list of questions to pose as you read through a poem an interpret meaning. This is great for student notes.

I have been teaching World Language (French, Spanish, Italian) at the elementary, middle and high school levels for 16 years. I regularly present foreign language teaching methodology workshops at state, regional and national conferences and in teacher preparation programs at various universities. I have spent time volunteering in schools in impoverished areas of Nicaragua and a portion of the money earned through TPT is used to buy school supplies (pencils, paper, books) for students at the Panama School in La Concha, Nicaragua.
