Ancient China Class Play/Assembly

This Ancient China Class Play/Assembly is one of a *set written by me. It covers all the areas of work the children will have done in class (the beginnings of a great civilization, Confucius, the First Emperor, Life in Ancient China, the four great inventions,) - all delivered by the 12 animals of the Zodiac! Ideal for Grades 3 - 8 and parts for all abilities. This curriculum-based play is fun but informative - guaranteed to be enjoyed by children and adults alike! This play is typical of all my plays - "written by a teacher, for teachers" - easy to deliver, and fun to perform, with seating plan included. The only difference with this one is that I suggest the use of ancient Chinese music whereas in my other plays my suggestions are always of a rock n roll variety - which really lifts the performance.
*This particular set is based on the US Social Studies Elementary/Middle curriculum; but I have also produced a set covering the whole of Key Stage II History (Units 6A Romans to Unit 20 John Lennon)for the UK curriculum which includes other Ancient Civilizations like Ancient Egypt, the Ancient Greeks, Indus Valley Civilization, etc. I have also written plays on other subjects in the curriculum such as science (Rock n Roll Class Play - on the study of rocks!), Geography (The Planets, and an environmental one on 5 habitats) and PSHCE - citizenship skills (You are Not Alone - on bullying and how to deal with it) plus one-offs like Valentines and St. Patrick's Day.
In addition to these 'large cast, plays for performance' I have produced a set of Group Readers which are for groups of 6 children, written in sets of 5, complete with quizzes. These are a great in-classroom resource, for guided reading or 'mini performances'.
