I am teaching 6th grade social studies for the first time and am having trouble coming up with lessons that will engage my students. (I teach 32 students, every subject). I am new to the content. Is this study guide something that may help guide my lesson planning? I have to create the whole curriculum alone based on the standards.

Yes, this study guide basically comes straight from the standards. If you create lessons from this study guide, you will be right on target. I wish I had more to offer you for 6th grade, but I have only taught 7th and 8th grade. The reason I created this 6th grade study guide was for my 8th graders taking the social studies state test on 6th-8th grade curriculum. Hope this helps!
