You will have everything you need to teach an engaging and thorough unit on Ancient Greek Civilization. This product is specifically designed to meet the Georgia Performance Standards for 3rd grade Social Studies, however it will fit most any curriculum that needs to teach a comparison of historical events to today, or a curriculum that teaches about the foundations of U.S. government. Items intended to be copied for students are in black and white for economical reasons. This unit includes:
*lesson plans for 2 weeks
*19 pages for smart board viewing (.pdf, not a .notebook file)
*circle map activity
*venn diagram acitivty
*double bubble map activity
*2 cut and paste activities
*clip art or photographs of Parthenon, Lincoln Memorial and the U.S. Supreme Court buildings to illustrate and compare architecture
*vocabulary
*words from Greek origin
*directions for review game
*end of unit assessment with study guide, along with at least 4 other activities for grading
*maps of Greece and Europe and catchy clues to help students locate Greece on a blank map.
*blank map of Europe for locating Greece activity
*comparison slides and activities of modern day Olympics to that of Ancient Greek Olympics.
*An original article I wrote titled "The Olympics" along with comprehension questions.
*Role Play activity for demonstrating the difference between a Representative Democracy(U.S.) and a Direct Democracy (Ancient Greece).
*web links to outside informational sources for more whole class viewing of Ancient Greek life.

Just to be clear, this product is oriented and designed to be easily viewed on a smartboard, but due to "terms of use" restrictions, it is not a Smart document, but an Adobe one.
