This is a comprehensive unit guide that uses the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). The unit on Ancient Greece incorporates traditional global and geography curriculum but, in alignment with the Common Core, infuses literature and other literary devices so that students leave with a more comprehensive and thorough understanding of the subject matter. Furthermore, this is an interdisciplinary unit as students are to complete a mock trial using the Penal Code (of the state) to determine if Creon (antagonist in "Antigone") is guilty of manslaughter or a more serious offense. In this updated bundle I have included an interdisciplinary lesson plan (for "Antigone"), 9th grade CCSS writing rubrics and pictures that I took on a school trip to Turkey of the ruins from Pergamon and a model of the Trojan horse.
