This timeline maps out the 6th grade curriculum for the year by separating the time periods into 5 ages: Prehistory, Ancient Civilizations, Classical Ages, Middle Ages, and Renaissance. It also teaches the concept of time dating, timeline skills, and BC and AD meanings. Create a copy with blank squares so students can write in the answers with you. They can keep it all year long adding information as the year goes on. I also used it as an assessment on their test so they could remember the time periods and when they occurred.
Explanation of ancient history to present day. Clear information provided.

The timeline itself was a very nice quality. I'm glad I was able to edit it. I had to get rid of the "after death" as an explaination of A.D. I cringe when my 6th grade students use that term. Also changed 2010 to 2012. I would have liked it more if it were some kind of activity and not just a hand-out.

A good, basic visual overview. Helpful if you want to give kids the big picture, then fill in the details. Thanks!
