Animal Farm by George Orwell Chapter 2 Activity Packet
This is a packet of worksheets and other lesson resources designed to be used with Chapter 2 of the novel, "Animal Farm," by George Orwell.
The Chapter 2 Bundle includes:
1. A 32 question chapter scavenger hunt which is always a hit with my ninth graders. It is an information gap activity which is also meant to be a reading check. It allows students to think about the story and find information while not losing track of the storyline. It is interactive and fun and enhances comprehension of the story. There is also an answer sheet that accompanies the activity.
2. A vocabulary activity called, "Word Detective." where students act as vocabulary detectives as they try to determine the meaning of new words. First they will use contextual clues to guess the meaning of new words based on how they are used in passages from the story. Then they will use a thesaurus or dictionary to check comprehension, find synonyms, and determine parts of speech for each word. Answer sheet is included
3. A 20 question short answer quiz on chapters 1 and 2.
