A brief 50 page study of a few of the endangered species of African Animals and their habitats – all under threat. This unit includes notebooking pages and animal-related activities.
This notebook briefly highlights some of the more common of the Animals of the African Plains – or Savannah Plains as it is more
commonly known. I use the words “more common”, but hasten to add that many of – in fact most of – the animals mentioned in this book are officially on the Endangered List, and particular care, participation and organisation is required in order to
prevent these animals from becoming extinct.
The biggest threat (and most dangerous predator) to the survival of these animals is of course man, either directly or indirectly.
Hunting, farming, disease, thoughtless culling and lack of knowledge, education and insight are all threats that can be overcome with active participation by everyone.
I hope that you will find this unit helpful and as always, we aim to make learning fun and productive. Credits and acknowledgements are at the end of this book. Remember also that you CAN make a difference.

No formal Teacher Training, I work in social media, am a webmaster with a number of websites and blogs, and have a background and extensive experience in criminal and civil law, which I have recently returned to after a 5 year absence. I am a homeschooling mom who opted for homeschooling as a result of circumstances in our country. I have not looked back. I have attended many online courses to assist me in my educational journey. My materials are utilized through countries of Africa as an alternative to formal educational publications which are prohibitively expensive! I am fond of compiling unit studies and thematic units which I am able to adapt and use for each of the three children, now 6, 11 and 13 respectively. I make extensive use of public domain resources and include references to reputable websites for extension exercises and lesson plans. I am a published author.
