Hello... Fellow First Grade Teacher! First of all, my I say, I LOVE all of your ideas! Word gets around quickly! I am in Southern California. I was talking about your blog & an other teacher walked up and knew what teacher blog I was talking about! I have been teaching first grade for 17 years and I am always looking for inspiration! :) Hmmm... I think I found it! ... YOU!!!!
I am ending school soon here in sunny Southern California. I always like to start the new school year with a new theme! I enjoy trying new things! I like to keep my mind active! My theme for the new school year is a western theme. Have you ever taught a cowboy/ western theme?
Thanks for all that you do for children & teachers!
Allison

I was wondering if you have a pattern or directions for the pot the girls is wearing in your picture? We are doing Johnny Appleseed and I thought they would love to wear their own pot. Love your ideas!!
I don't...but it is really easy to make. I just cut a piece of 12x18 construction paper in half, longways...stapled it to form a circle around their head...then used a strip off the other piece to staple as the handle. The apple glued to it is a DJ Inkers style apple coloring page I think. Let me know if you have any other questions and I hope that helps!! Jennfier
I have taught for 16 years in a rural, K-12 self contained public school in Alabama. I have taught Kindergarten, Third Grade, and currently teach first. I love what I do!
