Crunch! Crunch! This unit is a wonderful way to start off the school year! It has lots of literacy and math activities, as well as science fun! Included in this unit are the following:
- an original story written by me
- a syllable clapping game
- cut/paste sorting activity
- patterning fun
- graphing worksheets
- an apple counting booklet (a favourite amongst the students!)
- number matching game
- a "rip-art" activity to be compiled into a class book
- an original poem written by me including sentence strips and matching word cards for a pocket chart activity
...and lots more!

Happy teaching!

Hi! Thanks for the question...I made this unit because I do an apple theme towards the end of September/early October (which is after the first few initial weeks of school). Some of the concepts I have in this unit are: a pocket chart story where the students match word to word/picture, introduction to syllables, bigger than/smaller than activity, a cute story, patterning worksheets and more. You could definitely use these year round - the activities can all easily be modified for your higher/lower students too! Hope this helps! E-mail me at kindergartenteacher@rogers.com if you have any other questions. :)
