I'm just curious...for the double bubble map...did you mean for one of the facts to say "lives in the Arctic" not "lives in Antarctica"?

I saw that there are some lesson plan pages on your blog for how you implemented this unit in your class. Is there a complete set? I am just trying to get an idea of how you pace it. I own many of your units and love each one. The kiddos love them too!

Does this lesson pack correspond to the CCGPS standards? If so, is this for Unit 3 or Unit 4? Also is this for K, 1st or 2nd? Thanks!

All of my units match the standards. I teach in Georgia. It is a nonfiction unit of study. It works for K, 1st or 2nd. It can easily be differentiated. I use it with my Kindergarten and First grade students and I've had many friends use it with their second graders.
Thanks!

Could you correct the page in the walrus book that says "Walruses use their tusks for protection..."? The Fun Fact section should read "A walrus' tusks never stop growing" instead of "A walruses tusks never stop growing..." as I believe you are trying to say the tusk of a walrus never stops growing thus using the possessive form of the word walrus instead of using the plural form of the word walrus (walruses). Thanks so much!

Hi Deanna-
I love your products that I have purchased. I was wondering if you could tell me what Kinder Core Standard you link to your making inferences with Wilbur in Tooth Trouble? I would love to do this for one of my informal observations next week. If you could let me know that would be great!

Thank you for all of your hard work!

Thanks for all your hard work. I love your blog! FYI...one of my kiddos found an error on the walrus diagram. The back flipper box points to both a back flipper and a front flipper.

Hi Carisa, You must have been one of the first ones to buy my unit! :) I fixed it and reuploaded it quite awhile ago. Thank you so much for letting me know. :)

I am thinking of using unit for second grade...is the material appropriate or are too many of the pages too easy. Just wondering...

Very appropriate. Several second grade teachers have used it. All of the materials are differentiated to meet a variety of learning levels.

Do you have a picture or template to see for the polar bear glyph? You gave the measurements in the packet (I bought it), but I am too visual to picture it.

My email is michelle.hannings@iasmyrna.org if you don't want to release it to the public. I thought bought asking on your blog, but this might be a more efficent way. Thanks in advance.

Hey Michelle, The glyph looks exactly like the polar bear chart. It will just be a little smaller. There are a few pictures in the unit. :)

I am very interested in purchasing the arctic animal math & literacy fun packet but want to know your true opinion if this would be appropriate for my kindergartners. Like most teachers, my students' levels are across the spectrum. I have purchased other things from you and really like your work and value your opinion. Thank you Deanna.

Hi There, I teach Kindergarten and use this unit in my classroom. I just give extra support to those who need it. I tried to include a variety of activities for all levels of learners. If you end up purchasing the unit I would love to know your honest opinion. You can email me at kindergartenteacher@cox.net
