Topic: Finding Area of Regular Shapes

These are area problems that are a notch above 1 step plug & chug ---- just ONE notch above....they aren't real stumpers!

There are 8 versions of 3 problems on 2 pages and a nice half page solution for each version. The students get a quarter gray scale page with 3 problems on it. The answers are in color --- but not full-blown vivid color that will blow a whole ink cartridge! I would print 1 set of them to laminate.

This could be used as an in-class independent practice - each student just gets a quarter of a page. Then students would form groups with others that had the same set of problems. (designated by a picture of a flower) A printed solution could be provided for groups that don't agree.

NOTE --- The last 2 versions of the problems (the daisy & the sun flower) are SIMPLER problems, so that you have options for differentiating.
