Area~Multiply Divide Fractions House Plans Theme Word Problems Task Cards

Students figure out the area of each room, closet, bathroom, and more for a house in this set of task cards. Students must multiply and divide fractions and whole numbers in these word problems. 4 extension problems are included that require multi-step thinking. (My themed sets of word problem use themes that you can use year-round, no matter the season or holiday around the corner!) My themed task cards utilize real-world, relevant connections to allow students to connect with math concepts while having fun solving problems.
After completing the task cards, students work with the dimensions of each room to label the house plans.
This set contains:
-24 multi-step word problems
-4 extension problems task cards
--answer key for all task cards
--labeled house plans
--unlabeled house plans
-student recording sheets for all task cards
Common Core Alignment:
Apply and extend previous understandings of multiplication and division
to multiply and divide fractions.
5.NF.B.3 Interpret a fraction as division of the numerator by the denominator. Solve word problems involving division of whole numbers leading to answers in the form of fractions or mixed numbers.
5.NF.B.4 Apply and extend previous understandings of multiplication to multiply a fraction or whole number by a fraction.
5.NF.B.4b Find the area of a rectangle with fractional side lengths by tiling it with unit squares of the appropriate unit fraction side lengths, and show that the area is the same as would be found by multiplying the side lengths. Multiply fractional side lengths to find areas of rectangles, and represent fraction products as rectangular areas.
5.NF.B.7 Apply and extend previous understandings of division to divide unit fractions by whole numbers and whole numbers by unit fractions.
5.NF.B.7a Interpret division of a unit fraction by a non-zero whole number, and compute such quotients.
5.NF.B.7b Interpret division of a whole number by a unit fraction, and compute such quotients.
5.NF.B.7c Solve real world problems involving division of unit fractions by non-zero whole numbers and division of whole numbers by unit fractions, e.g., by using visual fraction models and equations to represent the problem.

I am on an apple computer trying to print multi division area fraction math cards that goes with your house plan unit. Everything printed find except the card pages will not display the text.

Hmmm. I have not had this problem come up before. Have you tried re-downloading it? Sometimes things don't come through in adobe, but will load when you download again. Also, here are directions from TPT that may help. Please let me know if you cannot get it and we can find another solution. Thanks!

On a MAC, make sure to "Open With" ADOBE READER and NOT Preview. If it's still blurry, that's because you are still opening it with Preview!"

Have you tried to re-download? Sometimes the document doesn't load properly in Adobe. I am thinking this is the case if you are able to see some pages and not others. You also may need to make sure you are using the latest version of Adobe. Hope this helps...if not, you can email me at lifeloveliteracy@gmail.com and we can troubleshoot from there.
