ADD SOME FUN AND CREATIVITY TO YOUR LEARNING! See these hands-on, engaging projects.
THIS LESSON IS A STAND-ALONE. IT IS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY OTHER UNIT OR LESSON.
These 11 art projects can help students get engaged in whatever curriculum you want to adapt them to, grade 4 and up. I've done them all with students so I can attest to the fact that students have enjoyed these projects and learn the topics as well! There are many student examples included.
Some are set up to do at a computer lab, or they can be adapted to be done by hand, individually, or even in groups. They include complete directions, handouts, grading rubics for several, and real examples. Here are the 11 templates:
1. An information/picture cube - fold this 6 sectioned cube template into a cube of learning. A cool way to review what you've learned. You can do it by hand or on the computer.
2. Use this template to make a "Monopoly" style board game. (A fun way to review your knowledge!) All that you need is included-board template, question and answer cards, "chance" cards, full directions for making and playing the game, and an example to follow.
3. Make a flip chart-ask a question on top and flip it up for the answer. The ways to use this are endless. Test review questions work great! I've included the one I did, so questions can easily be changed.
4. Make a 6-section brochure by hand or on the computer. Full computer Word directions for students and grading rubric are included.
5. Make a PowerPoint Poster- you make a template that students start with (mine is included). You'll be amazed how creative they can be, all the while they're showing what they learned.
6. Make a cartoon. Easy by hand or on PowerPoint. Full directions on a handout so students can go step by step at the computer lab, and examples are included. Grading rubric included.
7. Make a cool C.D. case with song titles that include your information. Directions, student handout, example and grading rubric included.
8. Have your students write a class magazine where groups or individuals contribute articles and advertisements. Teacher directions are included, and a student handout you can edt.
9. Make an "All About Me" Poster. Students start by taking the "All About Me" survey, which is included, as well as a "body silhouette" poster (template included) that can follow.
10. Write a Children's story using information you are learning. I had my Health students write about an animal with stress in their life who must relieve it in a healthy way. Simply fill in your assignment's specifics and the directions are ready to go. Student handout, and grading rubric included.
11. Make wallet cards like a credit card size with important information to be carried with you (like CPR steps or Suicide Hotline Phone #). Student handout is included.
A PowerPoint with examples for each project is included so you can show students what their project could look like.
-All templates and handouts are in both Word and PDF formats.
