Groups of two will pick an astronomer of their choice and will create an Awards Ceremony for this individual. One student will be giving the award, while the other will be receiving the award. Students must describe the history and background of the astronomer. The recipient must explain their significance to the class, telling of how they have helped improve astronomy as a whole. Bonus points are offered to students who dress up and/or make the award to be given to the recipient.
List of Astronomers is provided with this activity.
