This is a great partner activity for students to use to practice identifying author's purpose.

Included are 48 game cards, a game sheet, and student directions.

To play, students take turns reading a card, identifying the author's purpose and coloring in the corresponding letter for that author's purpose. The first student to get 3 in a row wins!

Hi,
I would like to use your game to supplement my formal observation. I was thinking I could break the kids up into 4 groups. Do you think it will work?
Thank,
Kathy

That sounds like a great idea...I'm not sure what grade level you're teaching, but I wouldn't think groups of more than 4 or 5 would work too well or be very productive...but that greatly depends upon your students. My kids have always loved this game! Good luck during your observation! :-)
