Author's Purpose is one of my favorite comprehension strategies to teach! This packet is great to use with cooperative groups.
This mini-packet includes 4 posters to display using the PIE method for teaching author's purpose, an activity to use with cooperative groups throughout your unit, an excellent printable for students to use to identify the author's purpose of a story, and a brown bag template for a book club discussion. I had students tell me how much fun they had at the end of the activities, so it definitely will keep them engaged!
I wanted to let you know that I love your author's purpose activity packet and have talked about it in one of my blog posts. I am not sure how you feel about people referencing your products in their personal blogs, but you can view the post here: http://thecreativechalkboard.blogspot.com/2012/07/back-to-school-and-authors-purpose-swap.html
If there is any reason why you would not want this posted, please let me know and I will take it down. I am a new blogger and I'm not quite sure how other teachers feel about their products on other people's blogs. I have included a picture of your anchor charts on my blog- but the picture shows even less detail than your product thumbnails on TpT. I found your product extremely helpful and wanted to share about it in my author's purpose post. I also provided a link on my post to your product/TpT store.
Please let me know how you feel about it! Looking forward to hearing from you!
Do you mean for the author's purpose packet? That's a really great idea! I love pirates!

I don't have a question. But I am so excited to find someone on TPT that is so close to my own school. I live in Milton, Tennessee. I work at Lascassas Elementary in second grade. :) I am going to love buying all your cool stuff since we are teaching basically the same thing each week. I do have one question. I am in a mood to organize in fact I am pretty OCD about my classroom being organzied. Can you tell me how you organize all of your stuff especially your files.
Hey neighbor! I am trying to improve on my organization! I keep a file for each story and pretty much stuff everything in those files each week. I am currently trying to figure out a way to store my math centers. How do you organize yours? Feel free to email me!
