This free autumn photo flashcard set is for personal or commercial learning products you create. There are 30 photos of plants, animals, leaves, seeds and signs of autumn. There are six photo flashcards on a page. Each photo is labeled. Using photo paper will enhance the photographs but cardstock is an acceptable alternative. The photo flashcards should be laminated for durability. Check out the easy terms of use, if you want to use this photo set commercially.

I will absolutely remember these sets when I plan my products. They are great! And my kids with autism just don't always do well with the cartoonish clip art. Thanks.

Thanks for getting back to me. Glad you like my photos, I agree that kids with autism work better with photos. I started taking photos for this very reason since it's hard for teachers to get good photos fast and inexpensive. Now I just need to take time and get my collections together. I need more hours in a day!

What a WONDERFUL idea to offer your photographs to teachers as flash cards. I adore photography too and have used and still use many of my photos in my PowerPoints and other teaching resources. This is a wonderful camera; I just bought one for my daughter who travels a lot with her three girls! I use some of her photos! (She is a vice-principal at Whitehall High School, PA where she went. She was an ESL teacher before and also taught at an alternative high school in Allentown. I’m so proud of her! In two days, she will be 32 years old.)
I believe you can still use your lens from your Nikon D70 with a D7000. My next wish is to buy a micro-lens! I bought both of the cameras on-line and saved hundreds of dollars. I just look for the best deals and bought them from two different places.
I started teaching in 1972 ($7,200 a year) when we had to thread our own filmstrip projectors! We used carbon paper to make worksheets and manually ran them off! I am so happy that I have the chance to use the magnificent technology which we have today. I taught 35 years in center-city Allentown. I made all of my learning materials by hand.
Talking about talent and hard work, you are a shining example of both!!! Keep making your wonderful products and helping other teachers, your mother must be proud of you too!
If you ever need a certain kind of photo, let me know since I have a rather large collection.

I debated if I should use lower case letters; since these are the captions of these photos the proper way is to use capitals. I agree with you that using lower case letters on flashcards is important. I can change the capitals for you and just download another free set for you to use. I just made adjective flashcards with just words and I used all lowercase letters. Thanks for letting me know what you like!

How wonderful, you are a mother of two marines! The love I have for our country... well, I can't explain it in words. Thanks so much for raising two marines to protect our freedom. My dad was a marine in the South Pacific in WWll; he survived three years of war.

Wonderful...I can tell you what worked best for my English learners. Working together, talking, lots of vocabulary flashcards with hands on activities. Photo or word flashcards in pocket charts, where they can handle them are great. Everyone should have a "List" notebook. Have them write lists of autumn words using the photos and add on to the list. Use these words to help them write sentences and then stories! Whiteboards with word magnets which they can see and write words or sentences are wonderful. These are easy to make. Run your words off on magnetic printing sheets and laminate them. You can even use contact paper instead of laminating your magnets. (Look on TpT, there are great free word flashcards.) No, you won’t ruin the laminator! Cut out the words. Vocabulary in categories helps them connect words to a concept. This is the best way for them to learn new words. They can connect the word to something. In one year many of my new English learners (I taught second grade) would be able to read on level. It always amazed me how well they did. I had a lot of books, materials and centers. I taught mini lessons and everyone helped each other. Visuals are very important. Laminate these photos and you can use them for years. You may even want to punch a hole in the top left corner and put them on metal rings to hang in your classroom. Your students will go back, review and teach new students what they learned. Develop a collection of flashcards on different categories. I will have new photos and word flashcards for teachers soon. If you need any category of words or photos let me know, I will do my best to help you to be a great teacher. Oh, I do love teaching! Thanks

Thanks, I love using photos for teaching. I have a center on good habits with 42 photos which I'm working on. I like pocket charts and these flashcards fit in them. They see them, handle them, work together and remember. My students even put the cards in and took them out.

I taught many students who were learning English and found that using flashcards in a pocket chart helped them learn vocabulary. Not only did it help them but also my many other students at risk. A collection of photos is the best way to teach vocabulary. Categories help children sort and understand words.

Most government photos (USGS), PD Photos.org, morgueFiles.com, and Wpclipart.com are Public Domain. These are easy to use for commercial use. (The last time I gave out the actual web sites they didn't go through TpT e-mail.)
Go to your dashboard and on the lower right-hand side, click on copyrights to learn about them. Also, on the forum there is a lot of news and answers about copyrights. You can also use Creative Commons but you have to link the photos back and you must make sure it is for commercial use.
