This is a chart that you print out and have the students fill out. Then they bring in a baby picture of themselves. Post the pictures and the charts separately, and be sure to include yourself (the teacher!) Then have the students try to guess which baby goes with which chart. I've used this as a board outside my open house, to start a language arts unit on autobiographical writing.

I've been teaching since 2000. I taught sheltered 6th grade in a low-income district near Chicago for 4 years, and 3rd and 4th grade for two years. I also taught 2nd and 3rd grade summer school. I earned National Board Certification in 2008. I currently work as an ESL/ELL specialist teacher for K-5. I do both small group (pull-out) teaching as well as co-teaching in regular classrooms.
