Back To School: A Balanced Approach to Literacy for the Primary Grades-This 23 slide PowerPoint presentation describes all of the components needed to provide young learners with an effective balanced literacy program. Before you head back to school, see if you'd like to incorporate any of these ideas into your literacy block. I have described all of the components that I included in my classroom during my many years of teaching. My daughters and I are all teachers. The photographs in the presentation are of the actual materials used in my classroom with one of my daughters teaching during an internship with me. I have placed links to actual materials you can use if you decide to use any of these ideas. If you are interested in further information or materials for any of the components, please contact me through Teachers Pay Teachers. I am in the process of creating more of the actual materials to post on TPT. I will update the file each time I add to it, so that you can download it again for free. Thank you...
