This journal will provide you with a lot of valuable information about your new students.
The journal has two parts:
1) Skills review - 10 days of morning/daily work that will expose students' proficiency with Kindergarten language arts and math skills, such as: letters, sounds, Kindergarten HFW (Dolch), rhyme, syllables, number sequence 1-30, basic addition and subtraction facts, shapes, comparing numbers, and patterns.
2) Writing topics: Ten days of writing topics that will give you insight into your students' lives and writing/spelling abilities. Topics include: "My Family", "What I Do After School", "My Friends", "My Summer Vacation" and more.
