Hi Lory,
I purchased your September Math Stations and wondered if this Back to School unit is different or somewhat the same as those stations? Thank you for all you do!
Sue
Hi sue these two packages are quite different. The common core pack is much more detailed :) thank

LOVE your blog & TpT items!! I see Jan, Feb, & April math stations for 1st grade, and I'm wondering (ie: REALLY hoping!) that you are considering making 1st grade stations for all of the months! I would definitely scoop them up!!
Hello.. thank you for your question. I am in the middle of creating Sept for 1st grade as I write this... it will be posted hopefully within 10 days.
Thanks again

Just found your page and it's not clear if centers in different packages overlap or are duplicated. I've taught Reading Recovery 11 yrs & will be doing a 2nd (which I've done multi-age long before Calkins, WTW & Common Core. I love what I see in your centers. Please advise what " packages" do not overlap and if they cover Common Core. What would be best to start off with in the fall? It looks like you revitalize via holidays. THANKS!! nantramtack
Hi... thank you for the email. I have enjoyed creating and sharing these centers. My kiddos and I have enjoyed using them in the classroom too. When I first started the math stations... they were written according to my district standards... beginning January... I started writing the stations to cover the common core. January, February, March, APril and May are posted. I am in the process of creating Aug, Sept etc. They do not duplicate each other... they actually build on each other. I have printed off the common core expectations for the 2nd grade and increase the level of difficulty. Oh course there are some standards that I feel need repeated practice and will include a similar activity in another set. My suggestion would be to start with Aug/Sept... I have the 1st grade Sept posted... I will create a better preview for you to see what the packets include. They end up with about 150 pages (to use with the kiddos... not extra fluff). There are 12 activities in each file. Each activity includes a Task Card, hands-on activity, independent assignment, class booklet on subject and math fact game board ( I love this to help as a time buffer ;) I hope this helps... please look for the Sept preview for a visual peek at the quality and style.

Hi Lory,
Love your math games and activities! I just bought "back to school" (and already have robots!) and I might just be tired but I'm not sure of the directions on Colorful Sums. Could you clarify? Also, the one more/one less-ten more/ten less says lunchbox in the title but suitcase in the directions (?) Can that be changed? I have some kiddos that would wonder about that... Again, LOVE the activities you make. Thanks in advance, Laura
Hi Laura,
Thanks for your support. I will take a look at that file and send the revision out. Thank you!!

Lory,
I bought this unit and the robot unit and some of the pages just have bold black lines where there should be words. I'm guessing it is a font problem. Is there a way we can solve this? What is the name of the font you used? Thanks, Mary
Hi Mary... I'm sorry you're having trouble. When you open the file try right clicking and 'opening' rather than double clicking. if this doesn't work email me and I'll send you the files. Thanks so much. Lory

Love your blog!!!!! I bought your back to school unit and I am having a little trouble making sense of the place value boards. It appears the numbers don't match up. I may just be confused. Thanks, Cindy
AAHHH! That's one of my biggest fears. I just pulled mine out of my folder and had my 5th grade son match them up... and they worked so... I thought I'd double check with you that you're matching the chalkboards with number words (58) and place value blocks. Please email me if things don't work out. levans@dsdmail.net

Lory- LOve your blog! Just wondering how you will organize/set this up and how will you incorporate coordinating punch cards?? I want to use this as a spiral review for my 2nd graders.
Thanks
jen
Hi Jen, I just purchased Sterlite boxes at Smith's Marketplace for $2.50. They are 16 qt. and I bought 12. I plan on having 14 stations (28 students). I station will be computers and the other small groups with teacher. Each station will have a box and all the supplies needed. The kiddos will each have a 2 pocket folder to take with them each day to stations. Inside will be the hundred chart, cover sheet and punch card. At the end of the station, they will hole punch the number of the station that they were at and paper clip their assignment (if there is one at that station) to their cover page and keep everything in the folder until the ENTIRE unit is over. By then, their punch card will be all punched... they'll have visited each station... and have all assignments to turn in with a cover page. I want my students to learn a little organization and responsibility ;)
Hope that helps!!

Hello Lory. I follow your blog and I have purchased several of your items. Today I purchased the back to school unit. I noticed that some of the numbers on the doubles game boards are very small in comparison with the other numbers on the boards. I was wondering if they could be fixed. Thank you.

Hi Lory-I just found your blog tonight, AWESOME! I teach first grade. Your product states it is appropriate for 1st and 2nd. How many of the activities would my firsties be able to use independently in centers at the beginning of the school year?
Thanks! Janette R.
Hi Janette... I planned for this unit to a 'review' for my students. I've actually created an easy version and harder version for many of the subjects... money, time, <,>, place value... I would have to think that your kiddos would find success with most of the activities.

I can't get the product to download. It keeps taking me back to the product descriptions.
I love my days!! Mother by morning, teacher by afternoon and mom by night. I have taught second grade for the past 19 years. I am truly living my childhood dream. I love helping my kiddos engage and explore for more knowledge and opportunities.
