Ten graphing activities that provide practice in organizing data, using tally charts, bar graphs, and picture graphs. Students make tally charts and graphs, solve problems using the information in graphs, and draw conclusion about what the graphs show. Lots of practice with key words for problem solving, such as altogether, difference, how many more, how many fewer, etc. These activities are perfect for test prep.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Grades Taught:

As an elementary teacher for 34 years, I have struggled with a lack of quality materials that provide the necessary practice for concept mastery. It has been my experience that many textbooks and commercially produced materials do not provide the depth of practice and repetition required for student mastery. I have been writing most of my own supplemental materials for years, striving to meet the needs of students who need more than one or two exposures to a concept in order to achieve mastery. My many years in the classroom have provided me opportunities to work with changing curriculum standards and increasing demands for student performance. I have worked with second and third graders throughout my career and have a very solid understanding of the learning process and the needs of young students.
