A fun container idea!
Buy the Little Hug Fruit Barrels in the juice aisle of the grocery store. Sand, prime, and paint to look like a little wooden barrel. Label with the title of the game for each game! Perfect size for holding game pieces!
Objective and Game Play:
Student will have barrels placed before them with 4 words written on each. They are to find the barrels that match according to the game. The trick is... they have to put them in the correct order so that the 3 rows of 7 make a match on the top, bottom, and both sides of each barrel! (except for the outside pieces of the puzzle of course) :)
This is my 7th year teaching the 5th grade. I have been lucky enough to work in the most amazing campus. I teach reading in a departmentalized campus in the upper elementary grades and I am enjoying it! Reading is a passion of mine!
