TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Grades Taught:
Subject Area:

ENGLISH (especially writing and literature ) DRAMA (techniques of acting, improv) and MASS MEDIA (film studies) are my specialties, and I have ten years teaching experience at Mitchell High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I was a freshman team leader for several years, specializing in freshman transition from middle to high school. I am trained in the "6 Traits of Writing" style for both teachers and students; as a Master Teacher I taught the "6 Traits" during school workshops and inservices. I helped develop and implement Mitchell's first "School-to-Career" Partnership. I also directed Mitchell's musicals and plays including "Annie", "Grease", "Guys and Dolls" and "Footloose". In my spare time I created the Mitchell Improvisation Team which placed third citywide. I have also taught Drama workshops to gifted children ages 8-11.
