Bath Time for Bears is a hands-on early addition activity for K-1 students. Children use plastic counting bears (or bear pictures, provided) to practice basic addition facts to sums of 7. Once they have acted out the facts at the bottom of the Bath Time page, they will circle one fact that they want to represent with a drawing. Then they draw the bears in the tub to show understanding of their number sentence.
This activity, created by Terry Palmieri, (BZTeacher) can be used as a whole class, small group, or center activity. It includes an easy to understand directions card, the Bath Time work mat page, and paper bears to use as counters, if desired.
