Here it is. I had so many requests for a Dolch Word version of my Bead and Read units and finally have them available. These units will be available in groups of two levels per unit with the exception of this first unit where you get three for the same price.
This differentiated, sight word activity is tiered to meet the various readiness levels of your learners. It also allows you to differentiate instruction in response to those learners in your class who need extra fine-motor practice or who enjoy kinesthetic activities.
It addresses Common Core State Standards:
RF.K.3.c: Read common high frequency words by sight.
RF.1.3.g: Recognize and read grade appropriate irregularly spelled words.
RF.2.3.f: Recognize and read grade appropriate irregularly spelled words.
This activity allows students to practice list 1-3 of Dolch words while developing fine motor strength. Students can use these cards independently for practicing sight word recognition and spelling or they can play the game with a friend. When my students play with a friend, one student draws a word card without showing their partner. They say the word and use a stopwatch to see how quickly they can string and write the word.
Because some classrooms have only capital letter beads or only lowercase letter beads, I wanted to make sure this activity would be useful for either classroom. For that reason, there is a set of cards with capital letters and a set for lowercase letters.
Teachers: Copy off all materials and laminate. Cut apart the word cards. Provide a mat, letter beads and word cards for each child using this activity.
Please check my store for the all 11 Dolch words levels and the other available Bead and Read units there. Coming soon CVCe Bead and Read!

Oh I think you'll find that part comes naturally. My students still like this center and it's the end of the year. I like that I start with letters and sounds and move up to cvc, ccvc/cvcc and cvce words and then sight words. Hope your kinders love it too.

I am sending my email address so you can send me the wordless colored border cards for this activity. Thanks so much. strangej@frankfort.k12.in.us
I purchased this and I love the concept, but many of our sight words are not included, as we use a modified F & P list. Could you please send me or make available the colored border cards, but not put words on them? That way I can personalize them for my classroom. Thanks so much for the awesome activity.
