This student packet was created with the intention of being used during guided reading or lit circles during language arts. However, it could also be used for centers or homework. You can use the whole student booklet for your students or you can use the pages individually.
This booklet includes activities that focus on these skills:
-Vocabulary (6 pages, one for each chapter)
-Compare and Contrast
-Nouns and Verbs
-Connections (text-to-self, text-to-text, text-to-world)
-Fact and Opinion
As always, please don't forget to rate and follow me!
I used some of these activities at the end of the year with my first graders. I had read them the book over several weeks and we watched the movie during the last week of school. The kids loved the activities and did very well with the more challenging work.
I appreciate your feedback! I am happy that you liked it and found it useful for your classroom.

I love this mini unit/book study. I'm a new teacher and have been looking for ways to make the books I read out loud more engaging. I gave every students a copy and we are working through it together as we read daily.
