This product includes 4 activities for teaching money skills.
The first activity is a pocket chart that can be used to teach the names of coins, values of coins, and how to count that coin. It can also be used as a math center for students to match the coins, values, and how to count the coin.
The second activity are sorting mats with differentiated instruction. The teacher gives the students a pile of coins (real or play money), and there are three options for sorting. The first option is sorting real coins to the picture of that coin (for learners working on foundational skills). The next option is sorting the real coins to the printed values for the coins. The third option is sorting the real coins to the written name for that coin.
The third activity are flashcards with different amounts of coins. This is a beginning counting coin activity, so all the coins are the same (i.e. one card will have five nickels, another card with have seven pennies, another card will have three quarters, etc.) There is a recording sheet included.
The last activity is a Lost in Space board game. In this game, students compare values of coins (i.e. which is worth more/less: a penny or nickel), names of coins, values of coins, and which number they should skip count by for specific coins.
