This set has 9 sets of letter sorts and 9 sets of beginning sound picture sorts. Most of the sorts focus on 3 letters (the only exception is Qq and Uu). In one activity, students cut the letter pieces and sort them into the appropriate columns. On another activity, students cut the pictures and sort them into the appropriate columns based on beginning sounds.
This activity is excellent practice for letter naming, letter sound recognition, and phonemic awareness. It can be used as morning work, homework, or independent practice throughout the day. It can easily be used as a literacy center or during Word Work.
This purchase includes two sections; the first section of the file has the sorting mats that students glue the letter pieces and the pictures on to, and the second section has the actual pieces that students cut apart and sort. The two activities could be done on the same sorting paper at the same time; however, I prefer to do the letter sort at the beginning of the week as an introduction and the beginning sound sort as a culminating activity at the end of the week.
Thanks for saving me time and tears! I love when I find such useful things!

Wow! This was just what I was looking for and you saved me so much time since I didn't have to create it myself. I used them for my multi-aage class and they were perfect.

Your work is always so thoughtfully created and useful for the kindergarten classroom. You are my favorite Tpt seller at this point!
