This is a sort that I created as an extension for our Treasures Reading Series. It correlates with Start Smart, Week 3. Included are heading cards to do a whole group sort or pocket chart sort, picture cards, small picture cards to cut and paste, and a recording sheet. We completed the sort as a class when reviewing the sounds and then students worked on the sort independently, but it could also be used for a center. It is for pictures that begin with /j/ and /v/ and end with /x/.
Depending on how you use it, this sort addresses Common Core Standards RF.1.2. and RF.1.3.
