Each slide of this 23 slide powerpoint includes a 3-5 minute activity, and is the perfect way to start each day in a Language Arts classroom. Created by Beverly Brown, it contains 20 days (enough for a month of classes) of activities and focuses on journal entries, proofreading sentences, vocabulary activities, brainbats, describing optical illusions, and analogies. Also, each slide contains clip art, photos, or other artwork. It has a February theme (with 3 extra Valentine's Day slides), but can be used for any month. Often called "bellringers", these activities will help get each class period off to a successful start.
This is a great way to start class, and there is such a variety of starters. I will definitely use all of the PowerPoint slides.

This is great for warm-up activities for my 6th grade students! The only thing you need to do is remove the date or change the date to make it current.
I am using it with my smartboard and that makes it even more fun!
