Contracts are an easy way to differentiate spelling. Contracts can be used with any spelling list. My students do not all have the same list, so contracts work out great for differentiation.
With the contract students MUST have a goal of 4 activities for an A. I assign one activity that everyone must complete, and the other three activities are chosen by the students from the weeks choices. You could vary the number of required activities or the number of pre-selected activities any way you choose. I mix up the choices to provide high-interest activities for a variety of learning styles. By having some choice in the activities, the students actually enjoy spelling. Even the special services teacher has commented on how the students look forward to spelling each day! These activities could also be used with a choice board or activities menu.
Feel free to check out the preview and email me with any questions.

Help
I have taught for eleven years in a variety of grade levels and socio-economic levels. I have enjoyed all grade levels that I have taught, and am enjoying my current work in Junior High! I have a B.S.I.S. from Midwestern State University and a Master's in Technology Integration from Nova Southeastern University. I have also worked as a Campus Technology Integration Facilitator, and have presented at local and regional conferences. I enjoy working with peers and students! They both provide new sets of challenges.
