Yes, half of the test is multiple choice on Anglo-Saxon background, Beowulf, and A-S poetry ("The Seafarer.") In the description I said this was a learning and assessment tool, as shown in question #45 taken verbatim from the test: "The soul 'drowning in desolation' has religious connotations. This poem is also about moral and religious issues that extend beyond the literal seafaring. The early medieval Christians saw their earthly existence as a pilgrimage or journey whose ultimate goal was heaven; until they were one with God, they were like the seafarer, an exile striving for peace. I always have parts of speech as the second part of the vocab section; students need to be able to differentiate between a noun and a verb, and unfortunately, many can't.
