Teaching money is a challenge! Students need to name and distinguish coins, know each value, understand that some coins may be exchanged for others, be able to add unlike coins, know currency symbols, and ultimately solve story problems about money. Yikes!
Coin Bingo is a great way for primary students to practice the initial step - coin naming and recognition!
Play at your teacher table, then move the game to a center for independent play. 6 different bingo cards contain front and back penny to quarter images as well as a dollar bill. As students play, they get much-needed extra exposure to coin images and names.
