This is a six page handout for students studying biographies. They read a biography of anyone whether it be contemporary, classic or even assigned by the teacher. They fill out a a note sheet on their biography selection. It also comes with journal prompts they must answer that will fit any biography study. It also comes complete with projects to demonstrate what they have learned about the person. The culminating activity is writing their own biography. The outline for each process is given to the student and the student is responsible for completing.
Some parts of the unit provide for interesting choice activities for 6th grade students. The first part of the lesson was very basic though.

Before becoming a teacher, I was a substitute teacher as I attended my undergraduate studies at the State University of New York at Geneseo. I have been a high school English teacher in New York State for 10 years. My undergraduate work consisted of Secondary Education with Concentration in English and History from SUNY Geneseo. My master's degree concentrated on integrating technology into the curriculum from the University of Phoenix Online. Many of my lessons integrate the use of technology in some way. I have been a teacher author for Teachers Pay Teachers since March of 2007.
