This is a 24 page flipchart designed to be used with a Promethean Activboard (.flp). It gives children a basic overview of slavery, the underground railroad, and the Emancipation Proclamation. It also discusses key figures in the Civil Rights movement. This would be appropriate for grades 1-2. The lesson can be spread out over the course of two days (part 1 - slavery and the underground railroad, part 2 - civil rights). The flipchart also includes brief assessment questions at the end of each section to "check what you know".
