When using the Blend & Digraph Flip Books students are to identify the picture, trace the word, cut apart the boxes on the lines and read their book to the teacher. Students take their books home and are encouraged to practice reading the book with their families. Not only does this help them to practice reading words made of blends and digraphs but it also communicates to the families what we are working on in the classroom.

We have been teaching kindergarten together since 2000. We share a classroom but have our own students. The great thing about team-teaching is that for the majority of the day there are two teachers in the classroom working with the students. We support each other throughout the day and when we are not teaching, we share in the "prep" work!
