This PowerPoint is a great tool for helping students learn to blend sounds and read words!!
On each slide, there are sound boxes at the top. One at a time, each letter drops into the appropriate box. Students make the sound for each letter as it appears. After all of the letters are in the sound boxes, students blend the sounds together to read the word. After they read the word, a picture depicting the word appears.
This is a very engaging, interactive tool to get the whole class involved in supported blending practice.
This file includes 18 short u words; you can use the whole presentation at once, or choose a few slides for each day. For kindergarteners, I usually choose to do 5 - 7 slides a day. I have noticed a HUGE improvement in my students' ability to decode words with short vowels after using these slides. I hope you find them useful for your classroom!

I have searched the website over and over again for short vowel bingo. I would like to be able to play your powerpoint presentation for a short vowel and then play short vowel bingo with my kindergartners. What would be ideal is to have the short vowel bingo correspond to your pictures in your powerpoint presentation and seatwork. I play bingo every day with my kids and if I had bingo sets for each vowel and then one that mixed them al up, that would absolutely be awesome! I absolutely love your work and think it is the best for this purpose. Would you be interested in constructing this? I would be very interested in knowing this.
