Animals should definitely NOT borrow library books! Here is a center to help your students think about the right way for HUMANS to take care of their library books. This PDF file is the "I Can" sign for the center. Add paper and crayons or markers so that your students can complete their sentence and drawing of an animal of their choice: "_________ should not borrow library books because they would ___________." Display their work on a book care bulletin board for a colorful reminder of what we DON'T do to our books!

I used this with my 3rd graders at the start of the year and loved it! Kids were engaged and their own examples of why animals shouldn't check out library books were great! Very highly recommended!
