Book Report/Story Summary:Focus on Setting Coach and Player Cards

COACH AND PLAYER CARDS - Grades 2-5
Do you ask your kids to write book reports and get incomplete information turned in? These cards were created to provide students with a Question and Answer format for use in a Coach/Player setting. Copy onto card stock and laminate before using or fold in half and staple before using so students can hold in hands while they practice.
Students play a role, either Coach or Player, and pose/answer questions on cards to support each other as they speak/write a full description of a story's setting (This is the role the teacher usually plays in a teacher/student writing conference).
Ideas and suggestions for use are included in the full packet on TpT.
This format is a structure that encourages positive peer interactions and motivates students to participate. The cards also increase their understanding of story elements as they listen and evaluate each other for complete descriptions.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Classroom experience in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade. Also worked as a Teaching Methods Instructor/Student Teaching Supervisor at the University of Arizona in the College of Education's Teacher Preparation program. Currently working as a 3rd grade teacher/mentor and enjoying it the most!!
