Students will read the incomplete word on a watermelon seed and decide which Bossy R (ar, or, ir, ur) watermelon would make the word complete. Then they would place the seeds onto the appropriate watermelon. After all the words have been completed, there is a cut and glue page with sentences and words for the students to use as a follow up activity. This would be a wonderful literacy center/station. It would be very appropriate to use for word work with Daily 5, also.
Included:
4 Bossy R Watermelons (ar,or, ir, ur)
Student and Teacher Directions
Seeds with incomplete words
Cut and Glue activity
I think this is great. Could you possibly add a recording sheet to use as a center? Have them sort the seeds on the watermelons and then record it under the correct column (if that makes sense). Perfect assessment piece to add. Just an idea! :)
