Objective: You will carefully examine and think about the conflict between the British soldiers and the colonists by identifying and summarizing their different viewpoints.
This presentation takes the students on a journey that begins the morning after the massacre, introducing them to the sights & sounds of the incident, and asks the students to infer what happened. After the beginning slides, the teacher will teach about the Boston Massacre. The second part of the presentation allows the students to take what they know about "each side" and apply it each sides' perspective/point of view. Different paintings of the incident are presented and students are asked to decide from what side the artist was from and explain why they have infered that.
Students will need a general background knowledge of the growing conflict between England & the colonists. They should know how each group feels about the other.
As the title and above desrciption mention, this presentation is ideal for both an introduction lesson of the Boston Massacre, as well as a lesson that uses Social Studies to teach & review a reading skill/objective.
