Lesson Plan: Braille Writing Activity: Teaching Diversity (3-pages)
Braille Writing Activity: Learning Braille and Teaching Diversity

This 6-page Braille writing resource is intended to help your students understand how Braille is used and to also appreciate the diversity in the world. This is a proven activity. Every year we teach the students about diversity and one of the topics is people who are blind. We have our students create Braille messages with push pins and then exchange with each other. We also have invited a blind person into the classroom to share some information about being blind. Then the person reads the Braille cards that the students created. The students are amazed!

Included in this zipped bundle resource is:
-A student activity handout (3-pages)
-A teacher answer key (1-page)
-A Braile writing template page
-A teacher tips page on how to teach the lesson

All documents are saved in both PDF and Word.
